Springboards attracts top-tier backing as AI platform eyes global growth

AI strategy startup Springboards has secured backing from a high-profile roster of investors, including former Huge global CEO Mat Baxter and Accenture Song A/NZ’s Chris Colter, as the Noosa-based company accelerates plans to scale globally.

Founded by ex-agency strategists Pip Bingemann and Amy Tucker, alongside CTO Kieran Browne, Springboards positions itself as an AI platform that empowers creativity, designed to assist strategists and planners without replacing the human thinking at the heart of the process.

The platform is already in use at some 200 creative and media agencies, with investors from across advertising, tech and venture capital sectors now joining the fold. Key supporters include Zoe Scaman (Bodacious), Tom Morton (Narratory Capital), Reuben Halper (YouTube NZ), Henry Innis (Mutinex), and James Hurman (Previously Unavailable).

“We’ve had a lot of ‘pinch me’ moments over the past 24 months, but having this incredible group, people we’ve looked up to our entire careers, back us on this journey is something very special,” Bingemann said.

The raise is expected to help Springboards expand its toolset, grow its global user base and continue developing AI capabilities designed to enhance, not automate, creative thinking.

Baxter, former chair and global CEO at Initiative, said the platform does exactly what it says on the tin - gives talented planners AI-powered tools for insights, ideas and design strategy. "That’s something our industry must absolutely lean into, which is why I’m not just a user, but an investor too.”

Springboards said will use the investment to scale product development and expand globally, as agencies increasingly look to blend generative AI with human creativity at the earliest stages of campaign development.
