SEC Newgate China, part of the global strategic communications and advocacy group SEC Newgate, has appointed Aaron Pan (pictured) as partner, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to growth across the Asia region.

Pan will report into Will Brocklehurst, managing partner, SEC Newgate China. This is a new role and reflects SEC Newgate's investment as a firm into growth in China, as well as Asia more broadly.

SEC Newgate China specialises in corporate and public affairs, financial communications, crisis and issues management, with long established offices in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.

Pan brings over two decades of experience spanning London, Singapore, and Hong Kong, with a strong track record in corporate communications and media relations. Based in Hong Kong, he will work closely with SEC Newgate’s teams to support clients and drive new opportunities with local, regional, and international businesses.

Pan was most recently general manager - media relations at Link Asset Management. Previously he worked as group head of corporate communications at ONE Championship and VP of communications at FWD Insurance. He also held positions at Nomura and Mayer Brown JSM. He began his career as a financial journalist at Bloomberg News.

SEC Newgate’s head of APAC region and deputy group CEO, Brian Tyson, said: “Pan's appointment underscores our commitment to accelerating SEC Newgate’s growth across China and the wider Asia region. His deep expertise and proven track record will further strengthen our offering to our clients.”

SEC Newgate managing partner, China, William Brocklehurst, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Pan to the team. His experience across multiple sectors makes him a powerful addition to the firm, strengthening our ability to support clients to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected market landscape.”

Pan, said: “SEC Newgate is a dynamic and fast-growing firm with an impressive global footprint that can uniquely capture the cross-border opportunities that are arising from new connections being forged between East and West. I’m grateful for the chance to join SEC Newgate at this exciting time and look forward to working together with the team to continue driving the firm’s growth and success.”

This comes following the appointment of William Brocklehurst as managing partner of SEC Newgate China in August. Brocklehurst, who will be based in Hong Kong, will lead the firm’s next phase of growth and development across the Chinese market, building on the strong foundations laid by former managing partner James Hill over the past five years, who is returning to Europe.
