Scoot marked the launch of its first direct flight to Vienna with a musical twist, partnering with Singapore’s own T’ang Quartet to serenade passengers and the public as part of a cultural celebration across two continents.
The low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines operated its inaugural flight to the Austrian capital on 3 June 2025, tapping into Vienna’s rich musical heritage while showcasing Singapore’s own.
Onboard the inaugural Singapore–Vienna flight, passengers were treated to live classical performances featuring pieces such as Divertimento 1st and 2nd Movements, Liebeslied and Liebesfreud.

The return leg from Vienna to Singapore continued the melodic journey. The quartet performed at Vienna International Airport and inflight, this time spotlighting Singapore’s multicultural roots with a mix of traditional and modern tunes including Rasa Sayang, Teresa Teng’s The moon represents my heart and A walk in the woods by local composer Low Shao Ying.
The partnership wrapped up on 10 June with a lunchtime public performance at Guoco Tower in Singapore. Office crowds were treated to classical favourites such as Air, Intermezzo, Serenade and the recurring Liebesfreud and Liebeslied, accompanied by Austrian snacks such as wafers and dark chocolates.

“At Scoot, we strive to create memorable journeys that connect people and cultures in unexpected ways,” said Agatha Yap, director of marketing, communications, marketing partnerships and loyalty at Scoot.
“By collaborating with T’ang Quartet, we not only create awareness about our new route, but also leverage music to transcend borders and bridge cultures between Southeast Asia and Central Europe. We will continue to enhance our customers’ travel experience in more meaningful and unique ways as we grow our network," added Yap.
T’ang Quartet co-founder and first violinist Ng Yu-Ying added: “We are honoured to be part of Scoot’s milestone launch to Vienna. It is our first time performing inflight and we also enjoyed the unique experience of performing for the lunch crowd at Guoco Tower."
"We hope that both performances were as memorable for our audiences as they were for us. As local musicians, we are proud to partner our local carrier to connect more people through music," said Ng.
Other partnerships that Scoot has formed in the year, is its partnership withClear Channel Singapore (CCS).
With this partnership, CCS aims to break new ground in the mobility media space. It will also see CCS' smart mobility media solutions integrate in-vehicle technologies, journey-based messaging, mobility-as-a-service (MaaS), and smart, intuitive experiences to create smarter, and more responsive mobility media options.
