QMS NZ has launched a new external digital large-format billboard at Wellington Airport, marking the first site of its kind positioned directly outside the airport’s exit.

Developed in partnership with Wellington Airport, the site, dubbed ‘The WLG’, after the capital’s IATA airport code, sits on the main arterial route into Wellington’s CBD and government precincts, targeting all traffic leaving the airport.

Measuring 15 metres by 5 metres, the screen is the first external digital large-format asset at Wellington Airport, which services more than five million domestic and international passengers annually.

QMS NZ director Adam Trevena said the site adds a high-impact gateway asset to the company’s Wellington Airport portfolio.

“‘The WLG’ delivers scale and attention on the primary route into the capital,” Trevena said. “Its position makes it the only OOH asset on this high-frequency gateway, offering brands a premium opportunity to engage business travellers and commuters entering Wellington.”

Wellington Airport general manager of commercial Richard Dalby said the new billboard forms part of the airport’s broader strategy to enhance its commercial and passenger environments.

“This partnership with QMS NZ strengthens our advertising offering and adds a dynamic visual element to the airport precinct,” Dalby said. “It reinforces Wellington Airport as a premium platform for brands across Aotearoa.”

QMS NZ is the exclusive out of home provider for Wellington Airport. The launch of ‘The WLG’ expands its existing mix of internal, external and experiential advertising formats across the airport precinct.
