POND'S expands Yaya Sperbund partnership with global ambassador role

POND’S has named Thai actress and model Urassaya “Yaya” Sperbund (pictured) as its global brand ambassador, marking a significant expansion of a relationship that has spanned more than a decade.

The appointment signals a strategic move by the Unilever-owned brand to scale a proven regional partnership onto the global stage, as it continues to position itself at the intersection of skincare science and aspirational storytelling.

Sperbund, long regarded as one of Asia’s most influential cultural figures, has been a consistent face of POND’S across Thailand and wider Asian markets. Her elevation reflects both continuity and ambition, as the brand looks to build global resonance through familiar talent with established consumer trust.

Sperbund’s association with POND’S began over ten years ago, during which she has fronted major campaigns and product launches, helping the brand strengthen its connection with Thai consumers. Her role has also evolved alongside the company’s push to foreground scientific credibility across its skincare portfolio.

Her transition to global ambassador comes as POND’S sharpens its positioning around reinvention and imagination – values the brand increasingly ties to both product innovation and personal expression.

“I'm so honoured to begin this new global chapter with POND’S. Skincare is part of how I prepare to show up as my best self – with confidence, creativity, imagination, and intention. As I look ahead to an exciting year of new projects and getting married, I’m reminded that caring for your skin is also about believing in yourself and embracing what’s ahead. POND’S vision is to keep redefining what’s possible, and I’m proud to share that with people everywhere,” Sperbund said.

For POND’S, the move underscores a broader effort to blend its 180-year heritage with contemporary cultural relevance. The brand has increasingly leaned into narratives that connect scientific innovation with emotional and lifestyle-driven messaging, particularly across fast-growing Asian markets.

“Yaya reflects the spirit of POND’S today: a belief that even the most ambitious dreams can be realised through imagination and determination. Having grown with the brand over many years, she represents both our heritage and our momentum as we shape the future of skincare innovation. We are proud to welcome Yaya as our global brand ambassador as we bring the next era of POND’S to women around the world,” Rohit Pathak, global brand lead for POND’S, said.

The announcement comes as POND’S continues to expand distribution of its core ranges – including Age Miracle, Bright Miracle, Hydra Miracle and UV Miracle – across key growth markets such as Southeast Asia and Latin America.

Backed by Unilever’s global reach, the brand is positioning itself to tap into rising demand for accessible, science-led skincare, while maintaining strong cultural relevance through localised ambassadors with cross-border appeal.
