PhilWeb taps Lance Gokongwei amid AI and digital infrastructure push

Philippine-listed technology company PhilWeb has appointed prominent business leader Lance Y. Gokongwei (pictured) to its board of directors, reinforcing its governance and technology ambitions following his recent 2.03 billion pesos (US$32.9 million) strategic investment in the company.
The appointment comes as PhilWeb continues to expand its digital infrastructure, AI-enabled operational systems and compliance capabilities for the country's regulated digital entertainment ecosystem.
As a board director, Gokongwei is expected to provide strategic oversight and governance leadership as the company advances its long-term infrastructure, technology and AI-driven operational roadmap.

"I am pleased to join PhilWeb as a board director at an important stage in the company's development. Technology infrastructure, operational intelligence, compliance systems, and scalable digital platforms are becoming increasingly important across regulated digital ecosystems. PhilWeb said it has been strengthening its position as a provider of digital infrastructure, operational systems, compliance technology and platform solutions for licensed operators. Its current initiatives include investments in AI-enabled operational systems, risk and compliance infrastructure, platform intelligence and analytics, operational automation, and scalable digital infrastructure.
Edgar Brian K. Ng, president of PhilWeb, said Gokongwei's experience would support the company's next phase of development.
