Optus has appointed Lauren Dawber as executive general manager of marketing following an executive recruitment process.

Dawber joined Optus in 2023 and has held senior leadership roles across the company’s marketing portfolio. Optus said she has played a key role in strengthening its marketing capability and shaping its evolving marketing strategy.

She brings more than 20 years’ experience across global media agencies and enterprise organisations, with a focus on customer-led brands and high-performing marketing teams.

Her appointment comes as Optus continues to rebuild trust and sharpen its customer positioning, following the recent launch of its We’re On It campaign.

“Lauren’s appointment reflects the importance of strong, customer-focused leadership and the critical role marketing plays in how Optus delivers for customers as the company continues to build a better and more trusted Optus,” said Felicity Ross, chief corporate affairs and marketing officer at Optus.

“Lauren is a highly regarded marketing leader with a strong track record in building customer-led brands and leading high-performing teams.

“She has already made a significant contribution since joining Optus, strengthening our marketing capability and helping shape how we connect with customers.”

Ross said Dawber’s role would be central to how Optus brings its customer focus to life.

“Her role will be central to how we bring our focus on championing the customer to life - ensuring we show up in a way that is clear, consistent and grounded in what matters most to our customers and Australians,” she said.

“This is an important time for Optus as we continue to strengthen how we deliver for customers. Lauren’s appointment reflects both the progress underway and our commitment to having the right leadership in place to support our ambition of becoming a better Optus – one that is easier to trust and easier to choose.”
