Omnicom Media Group has appointed Helen Cheung as managing director for Hong Kong. She will start the role from 8 August 2022.The newly created managing director position aims to reflect the agency's growth, having won the L’Oréal account earlier this year. Cheung will be responsible for managing and overseeing the L'Oréal local account, delivering multi-dimensional solutions.

Cheung will also be supporting chief investment officer Derek Yip in overseeing the group resources, aligning the teams, and nurturing a diverse workforce.  According to a press statement, Cheung is a true believer of talent development, and she is a committee member of Education & Career of IAB Hong Kong. She returns to the group, having worked at OMD between 2000 to 2006. With over 25 years of media experience, Cheung hopes to bring a wealth of knowledge, having worked across luxury, beauty, and pharmaceutical brands.

Derek Yip, chief investment officer of Omnicom Media Group said: "Cheung's strong reputation, extensive experience across the industry, the market, and knowledge of our brands will add value in continuing to provide the highest level of service and innovation."

Cheung said: "I am excited to return to the Omnicom Media Group family, to build on the momentum and success that keeps soaring. OMG has set the standard for high-quality work, and I look forward to bringing my expertise to drive exponential growth of the business."

Earlier this year, Omnicom Media Group Singapore also promoted Chloe Neo (pictured) to the role of CEO. According to OMG, Neo's promotion is an acknowledgement of her stellar track record for nurturing strong client relationships, elevating the agency's capabilities, and fostering a people-first culture within the agency network. After which, in June this year, Sadhan Mishra has been appointed the CEO of OMD Singapore. Mishra has been with OMD for over 12 years and was last managing director of the Singapore office. With his promotion, Mishra will have an added focus on client and partner engagements.

Omnicom Media Group is made up of several media specialist companies, including OMD, the largest media communications specialist in the world, and PHD, a leading media services company widely recognised for its pioneering thought leadership and innovative work for clients.
