Omnicom Content Experiences (OCX) has appointed Hiroyuki Matsuzaki (pictured left) as managing director, OCX Japan, effective 1 November 2026. He succeeds Alain Rhone, who is retiring after more than three decades with the group.
Matsuzaki brings more than 13 years of experience within the Omnicom Production network, having joined the organisation during its Designory era. Currently serving as chief client officer, he has been instrumental in leading key client relationships and driving business growth across both Japanese and international markets.
In his new role, Matsuzaki will oversee OCX Japan as the business continues to expand its focus on technology, transformation and evolving content experience solutions, helping clients navigate a rapidly changing marketing and production landscape.
Sergio Lopez, CEO, Omnicom Production, said: “Production is playing an increasingly strategic role in the marketing ecosystem. Melissa and Hiro's combination of expertise, ambition and innovation will accelerate OCX Japan’s growth, deepen our client partnerships, and ensure we continue to lead at the intersection of creativity, technology, and AI.”
Matsuzaki will be supported by Kazo Kano, CFO, and Sean Wood, COO, ensuring continuity and leadership strength across the business.
Rhone has played a pivotal role in shaping OCX's presence in Japan and contributing to the broader growth of the business across Asia. His leadership has helped establish a strong foundation from which OCX Japan is well positioned to enter its next phase of development.
Melissa Chan (pictured right), CEO, OCX APAC and representative director, OCX Japan, said: "Matsuzaki brings a rare combination of deep local market expertise, international perspective and collaborative leadership. As technology continues to reshape how content is created, scaled and delivered, his understanding of both our clients' needs and our business makes him ideally positioned to lead OCX Japan into its next chapter. Under his leadership, our Japan team will continue to strengthen its capabilities, deepen client partnerships and unlock new opportunities for growth and innovation."
Matsuzaki added: "I am honoured to take on this role at such an important moment for both our industry and our business. OCX Japan has a talented team, strong client partnerships and access to the broad capabilities of both OCX and Omnicom. Our focus moving forward will be on bringing these strengths together in new ways, embracing emerging technologies and innovative production models while continuing to deliver exceptional value and outcomes for our clients. I look forward to building on our success and leading the next stage of growth for OCX Japan."
