News Corp has launched the third edition of its national audience survey, The Great Aussie Debate, inviting Australians to share their views on everything from cost-of-living pressures and work to technology, safety and social habits.
The survey, now live on news.com.au, asks a series of questions designed to capture how Australians think, live and behave in 2026. Topics range from financial security and housing aspirations to the use of AI at work and changing social norms.
More than 54,000 people completed last year’s 50-question survey, with results used to inform a series of editorial stories examining attitudes to issues including electric vehicles, household finances and everyday behaviours.
News editor Kerry Warren said the survey aims to provide a snapshot of where Australians are at, combining both lighter topics and more serious national concerns.
“The Great Aussie Debate takes the pulse of the nation on a broad range of issues,” Warren said. “It helps show where Australians agree, where they differ and what they care most about.”
This year’s questions include attitudes toward affording children, housing ownership, workplace AI use, public safety at large events and social customs such as shouting rounds at the pub.
Responses will be collected over the coming weeks, with findings to be published in April.
