Singapore’s HealthTech agency Integrated Health Information Systems (IHIS) has rebranded to Synapxe  with a new name and logo to better reflect the agency’s growth, scope and scale of its work to shape the future of HealthTech in Singapore.

During its 15th Anniversary celebration that was officiated by the minister of health, Ong Ye Kung, Synapxe launched its new identity and its plans to further develop AI-powered health solutions along with new initiatives on the Health X platform.

Pronounced 'sy-naps', Synapxe is intentionally spelled with an “x” to emulate a multiplication sign that signifies how the agency plans to accelerate health innovations to move forward with exponential outcomes, according to a statement by the brand.

“The Synapxe symbol is a cogent representation of our future-forward perspective and a vibrant rendition of optimism for the future,” continued the statement.

Its X-shaped logo with a gap in between and a purple gradient called the “horizon glow”, also signifies new frontiers and horizons that encourage an individual to reimagine the possibilities of health advancements.

Synapses are the critical nodes for transmitting information between neurons throughout our body, noted Ong in a speech at the 15th anniversary celebrations. "Only then can a human’s consciousness, through his or her brain, direct the functioning of the rest of the body," he said.

"Likewise, Synapxe, as a critical entity under MOH, will ensure that patient medical records, data, care and medication, and healthcare subsidies and assistance – just like neurons of a human body - can transmit and flow seamlessly throughout the healthcare ecosystem," he continued.

“As we step into the future to inspire tomorrow’s health, Synapxe will continue to harness the transformative force of smart technologies like generative AI and cloud to power key programmes including Healthier SG, to improve the health of our people and ensure a future-ready health system for Singapore,” added Ngiam Siew Ying, CEO of Synapxe.

The HealthTech agency was formed in July 2008 to pursue an integrated approach in IT implementation of public healthcare systems to support the Ministry of Health’s Healthier SG initiative.

As Singapore's ministries focus on its marketing efforts and brand, the Ministry of Transport recently handed its social media remit to integrated marketing and communications agency That Marketing Guy, according to GeBiz documents seen by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE. The appointment is for one year with the option to extend for another year.

That Marketing Guy will work with the Ministry of Transport to develop a social media strategy based on a good understanding of sentiments from the ground on Singapore’s transportation connectivity and will create content to influence positive sentiments on Singapore’s transport system, aviation hub and maritime port.
