Hong Kong plant-based bubble tea brand Mother Pearl (圓貝) has opened its new flagship store in Lan Kwai Fong, transforming Central’s day-to-night landscape with an all-day social hub designed for connection and self-discovery.
Amid the pulse of one of Hong Kong’s most energetic districts, Mother Pearl aims to offer a corner to pause, connect, and return to the present moment. Guided by the idea that curiosity defines modern self-care, the space has unfolded through its “Bubbles of curiosity” concept, where ancient Asian wisdom is subtly woven into everyday indulgences, and each visit invites exploration.
This aligns with Mother Pearl's brand belief, guided by a simple promise of radical transparency: never lecturing guests on what is healthy, but showing them exactly what is inside, sip by sip. With its Lan Kwai Fong flagship, Mother Pearl has expanded beyond its roots into a more layered expression of contemporary living. Designed for day-to-night use, the space offers a considered alternative within Hong Kong's bustling Central district.

The first floor has introduced the crafted bar, an intimate space that marks Mother Pearl's mixology debut. Designed for lingering, the bar offers an immersive journey where drinks become sensory expressions, blending premium spirits with botanicals and functional ingredients to spark dialogue. Signature creations include "Empress wu" with pearl powder and "The price of time" with aged Chen Pi and Johnnie Walker whisky.

For shared occasions, large-format pours such as "Fountain of youth" and "Black typhoon" anchor late-night gatherings with theatrical flair. Bridging spirit and temperance, these cocktails can also be reimagined as alcohol-free elixirs, ensuring every guest is part of the experience. A concise bites menu complements the drinks, including "Mama's nugget", "Smoke and pearls" with smoked tea egg and caviar, and "The curious burrata" with house-made chili crunch.

On the ground floor, the menu moves beyond traditional bubble tea with a range of functional beverages for energy, gut balance, and cognitive clarity. Options include "Bright pressure" with berry and ginger, "Clever coca" with lion's mane mushroom, and "Green grin" with plant protein and iron.
Daytime offerings include espresso-based drinks such as "Golden veil" with osmanthus and honey, "Tidal lychee" with espresso, sea salt lychee, monk fruit, and citrus, and "Midnight dust" with black sesame and sea salt vanilla cream. Grab-and-go options include the "Chicken power wrap", alongside vegetarian choices such as "Mushroom harvest wrap" and "Marbled egg wrap".
Mochi Cookies are also available in matcha sea salt, dark chocolate, and earl grey, made with plant-based butter and low-glycemic sugar. A refined-sugar-free gelato collection includes "Dark matter", "Velvet cloud", "Mountain oolong", and "Jasmine bloom".

Po Chen, founder of Mother Pearl, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to bring Mother Pearl into the vibrant heart of Central. We hope this space inspires people to stay curious, keep asking questions about what nourishes them, and feel empowered to embrace a mindful lifestyle.”
