Maybank Singapore has appointed Arena Media Singapore as its media agency of record following a rigorous pitch process which closed in August. The appointment is effective immediately.
The incumbent agency was VaynerMedia.
Following the appointment, Arena Media Singapore will partner Maybank Singapore to spearhead integrated and digital media planning and buying strategies, aimed at enhancing Maybank Singapore's brand presence and facilitating more meaningful consumer engagement.
Leroy Lim, the general manager of Arena Media Singapore said, "We are thrilled to embark on this journey with Maybank Singapore. Our team is eager to leverage our digital expertise to support Maybank’s efforts in forging greater consumer connections, and broadening their reach in the local market.”
MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Arena Media Singapore for more information on the appointment.
Earlier this year in June, Maybank launched its cross-border quick response (QR) payment service. Customers travelling to Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand can make cashless and instant payment transactions via Maybank’s MAE app.
Maybank’s group chief executive officer of community financial services, John Chong said that the cross-border QR payment service is an essential feature that facilitates travel for Malaysians abroad, as well as tourists coming into Malaysia to conduct cashless payments through their respective country’s currency.
Chong went on to add that this update also serves as a key to improving efficiency while promoting the digital economy and financial inclusion in the ASEAN region.
On the leadership front, Havas Media Group has appointed Leroy Lim as general manager of Arena Media Singapore in May last year. Lim leads the agency's integrated and digital media operations, agile communication planning approach, data proposition and new business, while reporting to Russell Lai, who is the chief commercial officer of Havas Media Group.
