Marketing Excellence Awards Malaysia 2022 finalists unveiled

The Marketing Excellence Awards 2022 dedicates itself to the tenacious marketers who have once again proven that they can surpass their limits in curating quality works and campaigns, unyielding in the face of the new normal’s adversities.

Over the past decade, the Marketing Excellence Awards has earned its title of being Malaysia’s most prestigious awards platform by maintaining the gold standard of the marketing communications field. This year is no exception, with 42 categories to distinguish and celebrate the country’s market campaigns and talent. For the taking are gold, silver and bronze trophies, with the sought-after “Marketer of the Year” title to be awarded to the candidate that accumulates the most winnings across the categories.

The awards were judged by an independent panel of 28 client-side marketers. One of the jury members, Anabelle Co-Martinent, CMO, PHUTURE Foods, said that in the midst of recovering from what businesses have lost in the pandemic, some have creatively executed campaigns which were beyond the typical tactics of marketing.

"A world crisis brought about a new surge of creativity and thinking. Which shows humankind’s capacity to adapt and flourish even in these tough times. Some of the submissions have shown a massive shift in the way marketing is defined, and this will lead to new strategies moving forward," she added.

Another jury member, Chuah Sze Phing, group chief sustainability officer and head of group marketing andcommunications, Kenanga Investment Bank said that there were some very strong, impressive contenders this year despite these campaigns being rolled out under trying pandemic circumstances. "The ones that demonstrate data-driven 360︢° thinking and taking risks stepping out of the box, will have their noses ahead of the game," she added.

Moreover, panel member, Eva Piramila Poovan, SVP head of analytics and business insights, Pos Malaysia explained that it was very impressive to see a wide landscape of creativities from the participating teams; narrating their thought process with the right solutions which were combined with the richness of content, powered through the dynamic and integrated technologies to deliver a seamless customer experience.
