Mamamia is making the leap into television, with the Australian digital publisher set to launch its first 24/7 streaming channel through Samsung TV Plus in early 2027.
The channel will feature more than 100 hours of Mamamia's lifestyle, culture and entertainment programming, bringing its growing catalogue of video podcasts and other content to Samsung's free, ad-supported television platform.
The announcement was made at Samsung Ads' NewFront 2026 event in Sydney on Thursday, where Mamamia CEO Luca Lavigne outlined the publisher's investment in video and its ambitions to reach audiences beyond traditional podcasting and digital platforms.
Mamamia's podcasts have been downloaded more than half a billion times, while Lavigne said more than 30% of the publisher's podcast consumption now comes through video. The company has also invested in its own production studios in Sydney as it builds out its video offering.
"Over the last few years, we've invested heavily in video. We built our own studios here in Sydney, and today more than 30% of our podcast consumption is video," Lavigne said. "So for us, Samsung TV Plus is a natural next step."

The move will give Mamamia a dedicated, around-the-clock channel on Samsung's connected television platform, allowing audiences to watch its programming through a scheduled television-style experience rather than seeking out individual episodes on podcast and social platforms.
Lavigne said the channel would also create additional opportunities for advertisers to reach Mamamia's audience.
"This is a new place for our audience to spend time with the creators and shows they trust, and a new place for our brand partners to be part of those conversations," Lavigne said.
The launch adds television distribution to Mamamia's existing digital publishing, podcasting and video operations, as media companies look for ways to extend the reach and commercial value of their content.
Samsung TV Plus now offers more than 200 free streaming channels in Australia, spanning entertainment, news and creator-led programming.
The platform is also expanding its locally produced content, announcing a partnership with chef Luke Nguyen for a daily cooking series filmed in food markets across Australia.
Sam Hall, head of business development for Samsung TV Plus Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, said the company was investing in programming designed to bring audiences back regularly.
"We're investing in local creators like Luke Nguyen and Mamamia, delivering essential live news from around the world, and now launching Samsung Television Network, making TV Australians know and love discoverable in one curated destination," Hall said.
Samsung said its TV Plus service is now the most-used streaming app on Samsung Smart TVs in Australia, with the platform forming a growing part of its connected TV advertising business.
The Mamamia channel is scheduled to launch in early 2027.
