MAG Catering Operations appoints new CEO

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has appointed Sagar Sanjay Dighe as the CEO of MAG Catering Operations (MCAT) effective 1 November 2024.
In his new role, Dighe will report directly to Mohd Nadziruddin Mohd Basri, CEO, Aviation services, MAG. He will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational management of MCAT to ensure its continued growth as the group strengthens its non-airline business portfolios.
Dighe has an impressive track record of leadership in management, finance and operations, particularly within the aviation, food solutions and hospitality sectors. Most recently, he served as the board member of Nekta Foods, Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) India and Taj Madras Flight Kitchen.

He was also the CEO and director of SATS Food India (SFSI) where he led significant growth initiatives, including the establishment of state-of-the-art frozen food production facility.
Before which, he was the chief operating officer of Taj SATS. Dighe also served as deputy general manager at Sports Catering Services and vice president of business development at SATS India. Prior to that he took on the role of business development manager at Hinduja Group and maintenance planning executive of Singapore Airlines Engineering Company, according to his LinkedIn.
With over a decade of experience with SATS India, Dighe is known for his strategic vision and successful execution, resulting in increased market share and profitability. His leadership in relaunching the Taj SATS brand in aviation catering and expanding into the non-aviation food sector highlights his ability to innovate and strengthen market presence, it said in a statement.

"As we diversify our business and strengthen our core operations, we remain committed to investing in our people, infrastructure and technology to foster continued growth. Our aspiration is to strengthen our non-airline portfolio to contribute 30% of our topline revenue by 2027, reinforcing our position as Asia’s leading travel and aviation services group," added Izham.
Meanwhile, MAG recently partnered with the Sarawak Tourism Board(STB) to promote tourism in Sarawak. This comes after the two parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a three-year partnership.
The partnership aims at collaborating on initiatives promoting tourism in Sarawak. This includes supporting STB's flagship events such as Rainforest World Music Festival, Rainforest Youth Summit, Borneo Jazz Festival and major trade fairs.
In addition, the MoU aims to complement the tourism promotion activities for "Visit Malaysia Year 2026" and revitalising the country's tourism industry, especially in international markets.
