Li Ning and Stephen Curry debut HK exclusive drop for China tour

Chinese sportswear brand Li Ning (李寧) has partnered with NBA superstar Stephen Curry to launch a specially designed “Hong Kong city limited-edition printed T-shirt” in celebration of his upcoming China tour.

The release follows Curry's high-profile split from Under Armour and the June announcement that his personal label, Curry Brand, signed a 10-year global strategic partnership with Li Ning.

As part of the multi-city tour spanning Beijing, Dongguan, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong from 9 to 14 September, Li Ning unveiled a collaborative apparel collection featuring T-shirts, hoodies, sleeveless tops, shorts, and trousers.

At the centre of the drop is the Hong Kong-exclusive T-shirt, which draws visual inspiration from the city's night skyline. The graphic incorporates iconic architectural landmarks - including the International Finance Centre and the Bank of China Tower - framed by light trails cutting across the dark sky, symbolizing Curry’s signature three-point arc and dominant court presence.

The co-branded logo merges Curry Brand’s signature "S," "C," and "Splash" motifs with Li Ning's iconic mark, which replaces the top lines representing "soaring to new heights". Rendered in Chinese calligraphic brushstrokes, the updated emblem signifies both entities ascending together while blending Eastern artistry with Western sportswear design.

The merchandise is now available at the brand's three major local outlets, including the Canton Road flagship store in Tsim Sha Tsui, the Hopewell Centre store in Wan Chai, and the New Town Plaza store in Sha Tin, poised to spark a wave of fan collection and social media check-ins.

Li-Ning is also offering a giveaway for basketball fans and members, with 18 winners for an event in Shenzhen on 13 September. To participate, entrants must be registered members and submit an online response to the question: 'What inspiration or impact has Curry had on you?' Submissions close on 10 September, and winners will be informed via email by 11 September.

The 10-year deal positions Curry to scale his brand globally, with Li Ning managing design, manufacturing, and distribution across basketball, golf, and lifestyle apparel. For Li Ning, the partnership replicates a proven celebrity co-brand model previously deployed with NBA legend Dwyane Wade.
