Kingdom Digital Malaysia has appointed Kevin Teh as creative director, as the agency looks to strengthen its creative leadership and accelerate its ambitions across Southeast Asia.

With 17 years of experience in the creative industry, Teh will oversee the agency's creative direction across regional markets, working alongside strategy director Edmund Lou to develop marketing solutions that combine data-driven insights, AI-enabled technology and creative storytelling.

His appointment comes as Kingdom Digital continues expanding its capabilities in AI-powered creativity, digital-first experiences and culturally relevant brand storytelling for regional and global clients. Teh will also lead creative output across the agency's growing Southeast Asian portfolio. He reports to Ryan Ong, CEO, Kingdom Digital.

According to the agency, the appointment reflects its ambition to move beyond traditional content-led campaigns towards immersive brand experiences designed to create lasting cultural impact.

Prior to joining Kingdom Digital, Teh had been a creative director at M+C Saatchi KARSA (formerly M+C Saatchi Malaysia) for a year, and a creative director at MUMA for nearly two years. He also had a short stint on the brand side at CARSOME, and more agenct experience across McCann, Ogilvy, and dentsu Malaysia mainly as a copywriter and creative lead.

Commenting on his new role, Teh said he was drawn to Kingdom Digital's ambition to redefine what a modern agency can be. "There is a profound opportunity here to move beyond mere execution and deliver ideas that shape business and culture. I look forward to helping define the next version of our creative standard," he said.

Looking ahead, Teh said the agency's focus is not simply on producing more work, but on creating ideas that stand apart. "We want ideas that deserve to exist in culture and experiences people can interact with, not just content they scroll past. When the work is confident, memorable, and recognisably Kingdom Digital even without the logo, that's when we know we're on the right track," he added.

Ryan Ong said Teh's appointment reinforces the agency's belief that creativity is central to business growth.

"Kevin brings a rare balance of creative ambition and commercial discipline. He understands that creativity and performance are not separate, creativity is the growth engine behind performance. His focus on culturally resonant ideas and distinctive thinking makes him the right fit to lead Kingdom Digital Malaysia's creative evolution," said Ong.

The appointment also supports the agency's continued investment in AI-enabled creativity, with Teh describing artificial intelligence as a tool that enhances, rather than replaces, creative craft.

"AI is removing friction from execution. When production becomes faster and more accessible, the value shifts to taste, judgement and originality," he said.

"AI-enabled creativity is about accelerating exploration. You can test more directions, visualise ideas earlier, and unlock possibilities that weren't practical before. But tools don't decide what's worth making. People do."

Ong added that the philosophy aligns with Kingdom Digital's "Made differently" positioning. "For us, 'Made differently' isn't just a mantra, it's a standard. Every hire and every campaign is held to that bar. Kevin embodies this mindset, translating bold thinking into measurable impact," he said.

The appointment follows a series of new business wins for Kingdom Digital, including Malaysia Airlines, Spritzer, iProperty Malaysia, redBus and Counterpain, as the agency continues to position Malaysia as a strategic hub for its regional growth.

In August last year, Kingdom Digital has appointed Pajaree Vatcharateansagul as its new head of media, bolstering the agency’s regional capabilities in integrated, full-funnel marketing. With over eight years’ experience in integrated media strategy, digital transformation and regional campaign leadership, Vatcharateansagul, also known as Mynd, will lead Kingdom Digital’s media strategy planning and ad optimisation.

She will also focus on strengthening the agency’s performance marketing and cross-channel delivery for clients across Southeast Asia. Prior to joining Kingdom Digital, Vatcharateansagul was with SearchGuru, a digital agency recently acquired by NP Digital, for over six years.
