Kate Spade New York has turned green with Pantone in celebration of its 30th anniversary. Under the partnership, an official Kate Spade Green, which symbolises a refreshed and re-energised colour appearance, is created to pay homage to the Kate Spade brand heritage and at the same time sets the tone for the brand looking forward, according to Pantone’s Facebook.

The makeover will transform the iconic Kate Spade pink clover branding, packaging, and storefront to green, together with the introduction of an exclusive capsule collection. The collection includes ready-to-wear, handbags, footwear, home products and accessories.

As part of the collection, a brand-new version of Sam Icon bag is unveiled featuring new Kate Spade green. The capsule also introduces a limited-edition journal and mug in the Pantone colour swatch.

Similar brand collaborations such as Tiffany & Co. X Fendi took place last September, in an effort to celebrate Fendi’s iconic Baguette bag's 25th anniversary.

According to reports on WWD, Alexandre Arnault, executive vice president of product and communications at Tiffany & Co said the idea of “paying homage” to the Baguette through a Tiffany collaboration made sense. With this partnership, Tiffany & Co. will also be lending its iconic Robin Blue to Fendi’s Baguette bag.  Tiffany & Co.’s iconic blue has been trademarked by the company in 1998. In 2001, Tiffany Blue was standardised as a custom exclusively for Tiffany and not publicly available.
