J&T Express champions digital caution with 3C anti-fraud initiative

As online shopping surges across Indonesia, so too has the threat of digital fraud. To address this, logistics giant J&T Express has introduced its educational campaign, 3C: Cek, Curiga, Cancel, aimed at helping consumers safeguard themselves against online scams, particularly those impersonating logistics services.
The initiative comes against a backdrop of growing digital crime: the Cyber Patrol division of the Indonesian National Police has reported more than 14,000 cases of online fraud, ranging from phishing attacks to impersonation of legitimate delivery companies.
“Through the 3C campaign, we want to encourage the public to stay cautious when receiving messages, links, or calls claiming to be from J&T Express. We also emphasise that the company never requests personal information or payments outside of official channels,” said Herline Septia, brand manager of J&T Express.

The campaign includes a series of social media content, featuring Indonesian actress and dancer Asmara Abigail as the brand representative, highlighting the importance of vigilance against scams that exploit J&T Express’ name.
“The decision to feature Asmara Abigail in this campaign is intentional. Known widely for her roles in horror films, Asmara has personally experienced being a victim of phishing. Her real-life encounter makes the message more relatable, underscoring the reality that anyone can fall prey to the growing threat of digital fraud,” said the company.
Sharing her own experience on the RJL5 podcast, delivered in its signature horror-style tone, Abigail recounted falling victim to a phishing scam disguised as a delivery notification. She initially received a message that looked legitimate and, believing it to be genuine, submitted personal information including her credit card details. Within a short time, she was confronted with unauthorised charges amounting to tens of millions of rupiah.
The 3C approach is simple but practical. Cek (Check): Verify the accuracy of any message, link, or information received. Curiga (Stay Cautious): Be alert to suspicious details, especially requests for personal data or money. J&T Express never asks for payments through personal chats. Pay attention to unfamiliar tracking numbers or orders you did not place. Cancel (Refrain): Stop interacting, ignore the message, and avoid clicking any links if something seems off.
J&T Express’ monitoring has revealed common scam tactics, including fake WhatsApp or SMS delivery messages, imitation websites prompting fake transactions, and refund or additional-fee scams using QR codes, which can withdraw funds once scanned.
“Customer safety is our priority. Public education on phishing is not only to protect J&T Express users but also to help build safer digital habits across society,” Septia added.
Through the 3C campaign, J&T Express hopes to equip the public with the tools to identify fraud quickly and to share this knowledge within their communities, creating a safer digital ecosystem for all. According to Goodstats, Indonesia faced around 15 different types of cyberattacks in 2024, with phishing ranking among the most prevalent. The logistics sector, particularly package delivery, has emerged as a new avenue for fraudsters to exploit unsuspecting consumers.
Earlier, J&T Express also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Indonesia’s national anti-drug efforts by strengthening monitoring across its logistics network and collaborating with the National Narcotics Board (BNN). Since 2023, the company has conducted preventive initiatives, including employee drug testing, stricter recruitment protocols, and joint awareness campaigns, highlighting the role of delivery services in safeguarding the supply chain and promoting a drug-free workplace.
