Following its record-breaking success, Indonesia's animated film Jumbo has introduced enticing ticket promotions to draw even more audiences. The film achieved a remarkable milestone by reaching over 1.3 million viewers within just eight days of its release, making it the highest-grossing local animated film to date.

Jumbo narrates the adventures of Don, a spirited young boy embarking on a journey of self-discovery. The film is the brainchild of director Ryan Adriandhy and was brought to life over five years by a dedicated team of more than 420 Indonesian creators.

Since its premiere on 31 March 2025, coinciding with the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, Jumbo has captivated audiences nationwide. The film's rapid ascent to over one million viewers within its first week underscores its widespread appeal.

Building on its domestic triumph, Jumbo is set to make its mark internationally. Starting June 2025, the film will be screened in several Asian countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei Darussalam. Furthermore, it is slated for release across Eastern and Central European nations such as Russia, Ukraine, and Lithuania, reflecting the growing global recognition of Indonesian animation.

To maintain its momentum, the producers have unveiled special ticket promotions: audiences can avail a 'buy 2, get 3' offer, and there are giveaways of free tickets. These initiatives aim to encourage repeat viewings and attract new audiences, further solidifying Jumbo's position in the box office.

For one day only—on 8 April—moviegoers who purchase two tickets will receive a third free as part of a limited-time promotion. Tickets are available via the XXI, CGV, and Cinepolis apps, as well as at participating cinemas including Cinepolis, Rajawali Cinema, Platinum Cineplex, KCM, and New Star Cinema.

In a parallel campaign running from 8 to 11 April, audiences are invited to answer three questions via Jumbo's official Instagram channel. Ten winners will be selected to receive two complimentary tickets to the film, along with an additional ticket to Flash Play #MaindiBuumi at Plaza Senayan.

Jumbo's achievements have set a new benchmark for Indonesian animated films. Its swift rise in viewership and impending international releases highlight the film's quality and the burgeoning talent within Indonesia's animation industry.

As reported by Variety, Jumbo has officially broken the long-standing record set by Si Juki The Movie: Panitia Hari Akhir (2017), which held the title for eight years with over 642,000 admissions. Its success stands out even more given the local film landscape, where horror titles typically account for over half of all domestic releases.

Creative economy minister Teuku Riefky Harsya praised the hit film, highlighting the potential of animated films as a driving force within the creative industry. As of 8 April, the film has expanded its reach to 737 screens across Indonesia, totalling 2,600 daily showings nationwide.

Jumbo marks Visinema Pictures' first foray into feature-length animation—a significant milestone for the Indonesian production house known for its heartfelt storytelling.

Adding to the film's nostalgic charm is its official soundtrack: a reimagined version of Kumpul Bocah, the beloved early-2000s anthem originally performed by veteran vocalist Vina Panduwinata. In Jumbo, the song is revived with fresh energy by Maliq & D'Essentials. The track was chosen not by chance, but for its joyful spirit and ability to capture the essence of childhood—echoing the central themes of the film.
