Australian sustainable baby care brand Offspring has teamed up with Malaysian fashion label Kapten Batik for a limited-edition collaboration titled “Lineage in love”, marking Offspring’s first major brand partnership.

Launched ahead of Mother’s Day, the collection brings together premium baby care and Malaysian artisanal fashion through a custom-designed fashion diaper by Offspring and Kapten Batik’s first-ever complete family apparel range.

According to the brand, the collaboration reflects how care and thoughtfulness are embedded in the everyday routines of raising a child, with mothers expressing love through the meaningful items and experiences they choose to surround their children with.

As such, the collection turned daily essentials into expressions of emotional and cultural significance through touch, wear and use.

Speaking to A+M, Nur Rahimaton Abdul Shukor, head of brand and communications at SEDANIA Innovator, said Kapten Batik was a natural partner for Offspring due to the brands’ shared belief that everyday experiences can carry deeper meaning.

She added that the fashion label’s modern interpretation of batik and Malaysian identity aligned with how Offspring views parenting today — intentional, emotional and rooted in love.

"'Lineage in love' was inspired by this lived reality, that love is expressed not only in milestone moments, but in daily acts of care that quietly shape how a child begins to understand the world, including their cultural and emotional roots," said Nur Rahimaton.

As such, the collaboration reflects Offspring’s broader evolution beyond functional baby care into a more lifestyle and emotionally driven parenting brand, while strengthening its connection with Malaysian families through culturally relevant storytelling.

To drive awareness and engagement, the campaign is being rolled out across digital and social media channels, retail experiences, influencer partnerships and PR engagements. "We wanted the collaboration to feel immersive and emotionally relatable across multiple touchpoints," added Nur Rahimaton.

A brand film supporting the launch was rolled out on both brands’ Instagram pages, spotlighting the collection through a mother-daughter narrative. It leaned into the emotional core of the collaboration, showing moments of closeness between the two, before closing with the “Lineage in love” title to anchor the partnership.

Starting 5 May, the collection will be available exclusively on Offspring Inc and at selected Happikiddo stores including The Campus Ampang, Publika, IPC, Citta Mall and The Gardens Mall.

Customers who purchase four packs of diapers from the collection via the website will receive a complimentary "Offspring x Kapten Batik" travel pouch with mini essentials. Meanwhile, Kapten Batik’s full family apparel range will be available exclusively at its flagship stores in The Gardens Mall and Publika.

Fadli Muhsin, head of creative and product at Kapten Batik said, "Batik (traditional dyeing technique) has always been an expression of identity through craftsmanship, traditionally worn during meaningful milestones and celebrations. In recent years, we’ve seen it become part of everyday expression."

He aded, "Through this collaboration with Offspring, we are extending that into the earliest stages of life—bringing batik into shared daily moments. The introduction of our first-ever daughter set completes this journey, making batik part of the full family experience."

The collaboration also comes as more lifestyle and consumer brands invest in community-led initiatives and emotionally driven brand-building efforts. Most recently, Love, Bonito expanded its community-focused strategy with the launch of LB Women’s Club, a series of gatherings held in conjunction with International Women’s Month.

The initiative builds on the brand’s previous community-driven efforts, including stand-up comedy nights, its “Ready-to-live” series and the “Trailblazers” event. Most recently, Love, Bonito held its inaugural Singapore session titled “Style, money & confidence” in partnership with investment platform StashAway.
