The Hong Kong government is now inviting quotations for a service contract for digital media promotion of brand Hong Kong internationally and in Mainland respectively, which will last for 12 months commencing on 1 July 2023 and expiring on 30 June 2024.

According to The Information Service Department, the contractor is required to undertake a digital media promotion including planning, booking and advertisement coordination to promote brand Hong Kong in the Mainland, whereas another contractor is asked to perform the same task in the international markets.

The tender submission deadline will be at noon on 26 April. All tenders must be deposited in the tender box before the tender closing time. Late tenders or tenders not deposited in the specified tender box will not be accepted.

This comes following the recent launch of global promotional campaign "Hello Hong Kong", which aimed to showcase and promote the city's new bright economic prospects, new cultural vision and new travel experience. Hong Kong will give away 500,000 free air tickets and city-wide offers to overseas visitors and 80,000 to HongKongers. The giveaway will start from March to SEA tourists, mainland China and other regions will come next.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has organised the first familiarisation trip for mainland travel trade representatives since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, hosting about 120 travel trade members from 38 mainland cities to visit new attractions in Hong Kong, to explore business partnership opportunities with the Hong Kong travel trade and bring new opportunities to Hong Kong’s tourism.

Don't miss: Hong Kong hires digital agencies to promote Brand HK internationally

This is not the first time the government looks to hire digital media agencies to promote Hong Kong. Back in August last year, it has spent HK$17 million to recruit digital agencies Tango Digital and Migather to help promote “Brand Hong Kong” in Mainland China and internationally.

According to the government gazette published on 26 August 2022, the Informations Services Department (ISD) has approved two contracts of HK$8.56 million and HK$8.28million respectively, to hire the digital agencies.

Tango is required to undertake a digital media promotion including planning, booking and advertisement coordination to promote “Brand Hong Kong” in the international markets for a period of 11 months, commencing on 1 August 2022 and expiring on 30 June 2023, the gazette said.
