Hong Kong Beer Co offers free beer if you bring your boss

Hong Kong craft brewery Hong Kong Beer Co has a refreshing answer to the World Cup final dilemma facing the city's workforce: bring your boss along.
As the World Cup final approaches, Hong Kong faces a huge predicament. For the city's workforce, that means a choice: either skip the match or face Monday morning consequences.
For many football fans, this will be a hard question to answer. But Hong Kong Beer Co has come up with a third option. In collaboration with bars and venues that serve its beer, such as Belly and the Beer, Hoppy Junction, HANDS and Smash'd Burger, Hong Kong Beer Co is running a special promotion that redefines what "BYOB" means.
The campaign, called "Bring your own boss", offers a round to fans who invite their manager or boss to the 3am World Cup final at the selected venues. The thinking is that if your boss is with you, they might be more understanding about you working from home on Monday.

To participate, fans can visit the BYOB microsite and generate a pre-set invite for their manager to join them at a partnering bar. Those who show up with their boss will receive their first two Hong Kong Beers on the house. Hong Kong Beer Co has also enlisted local influencers to help drive awareness.

Don't miss: Who needs a ticket? Here are the brands bringing World Cup fever beyond the stadium
As the World Cup final approaches, brands are ramping up creative campaigns to engage fans. The Argentina versus Spain final kicks off at 3am, posing a dilemma for supporters. Many will be watching the sunrise before heading to work. Calling in sick feels wrong, but turning up exhausted is hardly ideal either. ZA Bank has revived its signature "football hangover leave".
All employees will receive an extra day of paid leave on 20 July, the day after the tournament final, so they can watch with peace of mind, sleep it off properly, and enjoy a longer weekend. The ZA team will return on Tuesday recharged.
