The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) will roll out the second batch of 100,000 “Hong Kong Night Treats for Locals” dining vouchers tomorrow (10 January 2024), of which HongKongers can use for a dine-in bill at selected restaurants or bars upon minimum spending of HK$100 after 6 pm.
As part of the efforts to promote the city's nightlife and support the local economy, HKTB will be offering dining vouchers with a value of HK$100 each. These vouchers will be made available to the public for free on the Discover Hong Kong e-platform starting tomorrow at 10 am.
Participants of the second batch include more than 600 outlets from about 110 merchants of bars and Quality Tourism Services (QTS) Scheme-certified restaurants, providing an array of cuisines such as Hong Kong-style clay pot dishes, Cantonese cuisine, seafood, Chongqing hot pot, American fast food, café, French, Italian, Southeast Asian, Japanese and Korean cuisines. Voucher holders can also choose from the list of bars.
HKTB spokesperson told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that the promotion aimed to drive local consumption in town and continuously create business opportunities for the F&B sector. It has been promoting the campaign to the local public through its campaign’s official website, social media platforms and press releases.
Back in December last year, HKTB launched the first batch of 100,000 dining vouchers for free for the public as part of the “Hello Hong Kong” campaign.
Don't miss: How can 'Night Vibes HK' campaign bring back the nightlife buzz in HK?
To stimulate the local economy, the Hong Kong government introduced the "Night Vibes Hong Kong" campaign in September last year. The campaign included various initiatives such as free MTR rides after 10.30 pm, discounts for late-night movie screenings and a free Wednesday night event at Happy Valley Racecourse for the public.
During a media session before the regular executive council meeting on 5 December 2023, Hong Kong chief executive John Lee said Hong Kong would continue to introduce a new series of activities under the campaign to boost social development upon receiving positive feedback
Inspired by the government's "Night Vibes" initiatives, the revamped Yau Tsim Mong District Council also proposed to host a community version of the "Night Vibes Hong Kong" campaign in Tsim Sha Tsui over the Lunar New Year holidays and Valentine’s Day. The campaign will feature lighting decorations, large standing neon signs, street performances and activities on Nathan Road around Park Lane Shopper’s Boulevard to boost consumption involving nearby stores and hotels.
