Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has launched its first-ever "Pixar Summer Fest," a seasonal campaign that integrates Pixar Animation Studios franchises into the park's attractions, entertainment schedules, and retail environments. Running from 12 June to 31 August, this campaign invites guests of all ages to rediscover the joy of play.
The primary addition to the park's evening lineup is the "Pixar Pals Spectacular," an eight-minute performance scheduled to run directly before the nightly "Momentous" show. The production uses synchronised drones, fountains, and projection mapping across the Castle of Magical Dreams and Main Street, USA, alongside large-scale inflatables.
The performance features characters from Toy Story, The Incredibles, Cars, Inside Out, Finding Nemo, Up, WALL·E, and Monsters, Inc., as well as preview characters from the upcoming Toy Story 5.
At the Animation Academy, the park has introduced a "Draw & Meet" attraction. The setup allows visitors to sketch characters such as Bullseye, Lotso, or Rex, followed by an adjacent character greeting where the performers mirror the poses of the sketches.
Several seasonal entertainment offerings have also returned to the park’s schedule, including the "Pixar Water Play Street Party!" and the "Friendtastic!" daytime parade, which features specific themed floats for properties like Turning Red, Monsters, Inc., and Inside Out.
Designated character greeting locations have been adjusted across Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Adventureland to accommodate specific Pixar properties, including Coco and Brave, while characters in Toy Story Land are appearing with updated design elements from Toy Story 5.
The theme park has also aligned its food and beverage offerings with the event, introducing character-themed menu items, snacks, and specialised dining packages at Main Street Corner Cafe. The park's "Magic Passport" activity has been updated with new stamping stations that allow visitors to track their progress across the resort.
At Disney Explorers Lodge, families can dive into the “Finding nemo” Poolside Leisure Times at the Raindrop Pool, unwind in an exclusive poolside cabana with ocean-inspired treats, and take home a special Finding Nemo-themed bracelet as a sunlit summer keepsake.
For a hands-on culinary experience, the Pixar Bento Making Workshop at Ink & Plate in Disney’s Hollywood Hotel invites guests to don a chef’s hat and apron to craft their own meal inside a Pixar balldesigned box, and even give Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head their signature looks by decorating potato salad with edible eyes, ears, and noses.
To make the stay even more special, guests can level up with a Pixar Pals in-room celebration or Pixar Pals in-room themed surprise, transforming a standard sleepover into the ultimate "play-over."
Beyond the physical park boundaries, the campaign includes an external marketing activation throughout Hong Kong. The initiative integrates various Pixar character illustrations into standard local street signage across city streets as a public engagement element.
