Hongkongers will enjoy HK$30 movie tickets next Sunday (21 April 2024) as part of the city's collaborative efforts to promote cinema culture.

According to The Hong Kong Theatres Association, this year's Cinema Day will be on 21 April. All regular movie tickets at 63 participating cinemas will be standardised at HK$30.

"Cinema Day 2024" is part of "Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival 2024”, which is an annual event organised by the Pop Culture Programmes Office in collaboration with the cultural and artistic sectors.

This year’s Cinema Day aims to encourage the public to visit the cinema at a surprise fare, and experience the collective viewing experience of watching movies in the cinemas, as well as to promote cinema culture.

Starting from 12 pm on 17 April 2024, tickets will be sold at the box office of all theatres and their online ticketing websites at HK$30. All major commercial cinemas in the city such as Broadway Circuit, Cinema City, Emperor Cinemas, MCL Circuit, Golden Harvest Circuit, Newport Circuit and Golden Scene Cinema will participate in the event.

Moreover, tickets for all movie types such as 4DX, D BOX, IMAX, and CGS Laser, will be standardised at HK$30. Each person can only purchase a maximum of four tickets at the box office of the theatre.
