The finalists for MARKETING-INTERACTIVE’s Hashtag Asia 2023 have been officially revealed, and as of now, the list is publicly accessible on the awards programme's website. With a diverse array of social media campaigns and initiatives to mark its second edition, the 2023 shortlist sees strong representation from several brands, agencies, and social content creators all across Asia.
Out of the 30 categories open for entry, this year saw the return of many beloved and popular categories, including the addition of the new ‘Best Account Based Marketing Strategy’, ‘Best Social Selling/Commerce Campaign’ and ‘Best Video in a Social Media Campaign’ categories. Similar to the awards’ first edition, the most successful agency and brand across all relevant categories will be awarded the Overall Agency HashMaster and Overall Brand HashMaster titles respectively.
The Hashtag Asia Awards was judged by 36 senior marketing professionals from around the region.
One of the jury members, Ivan Yap, head, digital communications of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore said, “This year's submissions ran the gamut from smaller-scale activations to mega campaigns, boasting an equally diverse mix of innovative strategies—several of which were truly bold, category-redefining and inspiring. It has been a privilege to observe the considered use of tactics, from leveraging macro and nano KOLs at scale and driving hyper-personalisation through data harvesting, to seizing upon the local zeitgeist to inform storytelling and employing social media platforms in highly targeted, nuanced ways.”
Luke Janich, founder and CEO of RED² Digital, added on by saying, “The submitted entries were impressive and demonstrated a high level of strategic thinking in their campaigns. It is evident that the teams invested significant effort in determining how to reach their target audience and achieve their objectives, resulting in excellent examples of how social media can be leveraged to connect with people.”
Additionally, Daniel Ang Kok Chun, a local content creator and actor, noted that as a judge at the Hashtag Asia Awards, he has had the privilege of witnessing the " incredible talent, creativity, and innovation" that permeates the social media landscape in Asia and Oceania.
"It has been an extraordinary experience recognising and honoring the best in the industry, and I am inspired by the exceptional work that is shaping the digital realm. The Hashtag Asia Awards truly embodies the spirit of excellence and serves as a testament to the power of social media in our interconnected world. It has been an unforgettable journey, and I eagerly anticipate the continued growth and success of this remarkable celebration of social media brilliance,” he said.
The winners of the second Annual Hashtag Asia Awards will be announced at a live gala dinner and celebration in Singapore on 5 July 2023 at Shangri La Hotels and Resorts.
