Hang Seng Bank and local artists reinvent music into 'fraud charts'

With the rise of phone scams in Hong Kong recently, Hang Seng Bank has collaborated with local artists to recreate popular songs to raise public awareness of various types of fraud and educate the public on fighting them.

Also known as “Fraud Charts” (騙徒流行榜), the campaign features multiple remixed songs done in collaboration with local musicians such as local band ToNick, per se, singer Serrini and a special guest.

The campaign takes a creative approach by having the celebrities transform their popular songs into messages of vigilance against fraud, covering themes such as fake links, investment fraud, romance scams and online shopping fraud.

A total of six songs will be unveiled on Hang Seng Bank’s online and social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn, across eight weeks, with the first song, performed by ToNick, having made its debut last Friday. ToNick has transformed its song 長相廝守 into 長HACK廝守 with new lyrics, aiming to raise public awareness about preventing scams related to scamming links and apps. The campaign will run for a consecutive period of two months.

A spokesperson from Hang Seng Bank told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that a live event will be held as a finale to further engage the community in scams alongside its digital efforts.

Diana Cesar, executive director and chief executive, Hang Seng Bank, said: “Phishing attacks are a serious threat to our data security. It’s essential that we, in partnership with the community, remain vigilant and proactive.”
