Hakuhodo Malaysia has named Jonn Dogra as its new creative director, effective immediately.
His appointment comes as the agency sharpens its focus on delivering innovative, people-centric campaigns.
Dogra brings more than 20 years of experience in advertising and branding, having led award-winning work for both local and global brands. Known for his bold storytelling and collaborative style, he is tasked with shaping Hakuhodo Malaysia’s creative direction, leading its teams, and driving campaigns that resonate with Malaysia’s evolving consumer base.

Prior to joining Hakuhodo Malaysia, Dogra was the head of creative of Lion & Lion, helming the agency's Singapore and regional business.
He was also the director of experiential design at Entropia Global and creative group head of Dentsu Malaysia. He's also held copywriter roles in numerous agencies including Y&R Malaysia, Euro RSCG Kuala Lumpur, Grey Worlwide, FCB and Ogilvy & Mather.
Takeji Yamauchi, managing director of Hakuhodo Malaysia, said the appointment supports the agency’s commitment to its sei-katsu-sha philosophy and future-facing growth.
We are thrilled to welcome Jonn to the Hakuhodo family. His dynamic vision and passion for creativity align perfectly with our commitment to delivering work that is deeply rooted in Hakuhodo's sei-katsu-sha philosophy. Jonn's leadership will undoubtedly strengthen our creative offering and help us to continue to grow as a future-facing agency,” Yamauchi said.
Commenting on his new role, Dogra said, “Hakuhodo’s sei-katsu-sha philosophy has really struck a chord with me. As a firm believer in people and culture, the need to tell human stories in an increasingly artificial world is something the team and I are ready to deliver upon. I can’t wait to build campaigns with our clients and show off the talents we have at Hakuhodo.”
Dogra’s appointment comes as Hakuhodo Malaysia looks to accelerate its transformation to meet the demands of a complex marketing landscape. Most recently, it appointed Christine Chang as its general manager of Malaysia.
In her new role, Chang will be tasked to support Yamauchi in the overall running and the operations of the agency. In addition, Chang will cultivate a healthy and desirable work environment and culture. Most importantly, she will be key to continuously grow the agency in billings and revenue
