German automation and infrastructure giant Rittal has inaugurated its first data centre showroom in Indonesia, positioning itself at the forefront of the country’s push into Industry 4.0 and digital transformation.
The new facility, located in Jakarta, is designed not just as a product display but as an experiential hub where local industries can access Rittal’s latest innovations in industrial enclosures, edge computing, cooling systems, and smart power distribution.
For Rittal, this isn’t just about market presence - it’s about strategic alignment with Indonesia’s broader economic agenda. “The opening of our showroom is more than just a physical expansion, it is a reflection of our long-term vision to become a trusted partner for Indonesia’s industrial and digital future,” said Rahul Yadav, managing director of Rittal Indonesia.

“Indonesia is entering a new era of smart infrastructure and industrial automation. Through this facility, we aim to provide customers and partners with hands-on experience, technical consultation, and access to Rittal’s global engineering expertise all localised to meet the unique challenges and opportunities in Indonesia,” Yadav added.
Indonesia - Southeast Asia’s largest economy - is undergoing a wave of modernisation. With manufacturing contributing over 18% of the GDP and the digital economy projected to hit US$130 billion by 2025, businesses are racing to upgrade infrastructure and adopt digital-first operations.
From eCommerce to cloud computing, Indonesia’s digital consumption is fuelling demand for data centre development and edge computing capabilities. Rittal is clearly betting on this momentum by investing in scalable, modular, and energy-efficient systems built for high-performance industrial and IT environments.
Visitors to the new showroom can explore real-world simulations and hands-on demonstrations, such as: live product demos of industrial enclosures, power systems, HMI support arms, and climate control units; RiMatrix-based edge computing and data centre solutions; access to local technical experts and engineering consultations; and training sessions on energy efficiency, lifecycle optimisation, and smart factory readiness.
The inauguration event drew a mix of business partners, regulators, and Rittal’s regional leadership, highlighting the brand’s intent to solidify its regional footprint through collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
To further bolster its local presence, Rittal Indonesia is setting up a Perforex Machining and Modification Centre. This will allow the company to offer custom-configured enclosure systems and components with faster turnaround times - reducing reliance on imports and building local technical capabilities.
An additional €350,000 (US$410,300) investment has been earmarked over the next eight months to support infrastructure upgrades, local engineering development, and customer training.
“Indonesia is not just a market, it’s a growth partner,” Yadav said. “We are committed to growing with our customers here. This includes expanding our local technical support, enhancing delivery capabilities, and sharing our global innovation and standards to help Indonesian industries compete globally.”
The new investment will not only support commercial goals but also play a role in upskilling the local workforce - a critical need as Indonesia transitions from resource-driven to knowledge-driven growth.
Beyond infrastructure, Rittal is keeping the door open for strategic partnerships to co-develop tailored solutions and expand reach across sectors. As industries across manufacturing, energy, and IT continue to digitise, the showroom stands as a tangible symbol of Rittal’s long-term commitment to Indonesia’s transformation journey.
