Pret A Manger’s head of marketing for Asia Eric Lam (pictured) is leaving to join Future Bright Group as its group director of marketing and communications.

Established in 1984, Future Bright Group is one of the largest food and beverage enterprises based in Macau with over 30 restaurants, food courts and retail outlets in Macau and Hong Kong.

Within his new role, Lam will report to Chan Chak Mo, managing director at Future Bright Group, overseeing the marketing and communications, branding, social media, digital and CRM functions across Macau and Hong Kong markets. His role will be effective from 28 November.

In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Lam said he left Pret to pursue new challenges and opportunities that align more closely with my long-term career goals and aspirations. “The new role offers exciting opportunities in multi-brand management and the exploration of the vibrant Greater Bay China region.”

“Each incremental move contributes to the ultimate objectives; so maintain focus on each of these minor advancements and awaits the results,” he added.

Lam has over 15 years of experience in marketing, business development, startup, and brand management. He began his career with a successful startup in the F&B industry and has since worked in a diverse range of fields, including trading, online business matching platforms, early childhood education, and a marketing consultancy.

Most recently, Lam served as the Asia head of marketing at Pret A Manger. Prior to this, he held various lead marketing roles at Outback Steakhouse and other publicly listed companies and he was responsible for managing marketing and corporate strategies.

Back in March, Pret A Manger appointed Branding Records as its social media agency for Hong Kong. The appointment lasts for 12 months.

Under the partnership, Branding Records is responsible for supporting Pret in curating creative content on social media by making sure the content it produces fits the brand’s target audience, as well as keeping up with industry trends and exceeding expectation.

Branding Records was chosen because of its outstanding creative work and professional and experienced account servicing and digital team. The brand wishes its content to be more localised and attractive to cut through the clutter.
