Independent PR agency In The Media PR has hired journalist and former Nine Radio national news director Erin Maher as campaign director, bolstering its leadership amid a wave of client wins.

The agency, which operates across Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast, has expanded its portfolio with new clients including Dulux, Yates, OzHarvest, The Bills Crews Foundation and Randstad.

Maher joins an experienced bench of campaign directors that includes veteran Channel Nine reporter Laura Tunstall and newsreader Amie Meehan.

Her three-decade journalism career includes coverage of four federal elections, five Olympic Games and major events such as the Christchurch earthquake and Black Summer bushfires.

“I have a passion for storytelling and breaking down complex issues so they’re easy to digest, and I’m excited to bring these skills to the clients we work with at In The Media PR,” Maher said.

Co-founding director Janyne Moore said Maher’s appointment strengthens the agency’s growing leadership team. “Erin brings a wealth of experience shaping narratives in the national news cycle for decades. Her insight is invaluable to our team and to our clients as we continue to scale.”

Fellow co-founding director Oryana Angel said the agency model is built around deep newsroom experience. "Erin’s appointment reflects our commitment to delivering powerful outcomes for clients as we grow.”

Founded in 2016, In The Media PR’s client base includes the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Heart Research Australia, Adora Fertility, Your Future Strategy, Teleperformance, VoltX, Experience Gold Coast and more.
