With an outstanding haul of seven gold, two silver, and two bronze trophies, FCB SHOUT retained the coveted Overall Agency of the Year title. The categories that they dominated include ‘Brand & Design Consultancy of the Year’, ‘Consultant of the Year’, and ‘Content Marketing Agency of the Year’.
Following closely behind was Digital Symphony, with five gold, one silver, and one bronze trophy in categories such as ‘Lead Generation Agency of the Year’, ‘Media Agency of the Year’, and ‘Performance Marketing Agency of the Year’. With five Local Hero trophies in total, Digital Symphony secured the title of Overall Local Hero Agency of the Year.
For the MARKies, Ampersand Advisory bagged a double-win, attaining both the Overall Creative Ideas MARKie and the Overall Media Usage MARKie with six gold, four silver, and one bronze trophies, and four gold, two silver, and four bronze trophies respectively. Their stand-out campaigns included ‘TENA HEROES: Market leader becomes thought leader by telling stories that Champion Active Ageing!’ for Vinda Malaysia, ‘Eye Mo: The Real Thing Reclaims its Rightful Place with an influencer and 10 million views’ for Combiphar, and ‘Malaysia’s Biggest Kidpreneur Programme Champions Financial Responsibility for Kids and Creates a Record’, topping categories such as ‘Most Creative - Influencers / KOLs’ and ‘Most Effective Use - Consumer Insight and Market Research’.
FCB SHOUT claimed second place in both segments, with three gold, four silver and one bronze from the Creative Ideas categories, and two gold and three bronze for Media Usage categories. Their winning categories included ‘Most Creative - COVID-19 Response’ and ‘Most Effective Use - Specific Audience’, won with their campaigns, including ‘Welcome To My World’ for Resorts World Genting and ‘#SemangatTogether’ for Hawley & Hazel Malaysia.
This edition of the awards featured an in-person judging day to review the Top-5 shortlisted entries for the Agency of the Year categories, and an entry cap for the MARKies Awards. The winners were chosen by a 30-member judging panel comprised of senior marketers from notable brands, including Alliance Bank, Bank Muamalat, BERNAS, Bio Harvest, Care Concierge, CIMB Malaysia, Colgate Palmolive, Dutch Lady Milk Industries, Eco-shop Marketing, Genting Malaysia, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Iskandar Investment , Jesin Group, Kenangan Coffee, Kimberly-Clark, Loob Holding, Malaysia Airlines (Malaysia Aviation Group), OCBC Bank, OldTown F&B Group, PLUS Malaysia, Prince Court Medical Centre, Small Medium Enterprise Development Bank Malaysia , Southern Lion, Standard Chartered Bank, Sunway Healthcare Group, Telekom Malaysia, TNTT Packages Express , U Mobile, Universal Music Malaysia, and W Kuala Lumpur.
