The Estée Lauder Companies has appointed former MECCA and Vogue Australia executive Madeleine Boyd as senior vice president of global brand communications, creating a new leadership role focused on consumer storytelling and creator engagement.

Based in New York, Boyd will establish and lead a newly integrated global brand communications team, overseeing communications strategy across Estée Lauder's portfolio of prestige beauty brands.

She joins from Together Group, where she led the agency group's global beauty and wellness division. Before that, Boyd spent almost seven years at luxury communications agency Karla Otto, rising to senior vice president of global beauty and wellness.

Earlier in her career, Boyd held brand marketing, digital content and editorial roles at Australian beauty retailer MECCA and Vogue Australia.

Meridith Webster, chief communications and public affairs officer at The Estée Lauder Companies, said Boyd would play a key role in evolving how the company's brands connect with consumers.

"Madeleine brings a powerful combination of strategic communications expertise, cultural fluency, and a deep understanding of today's beauty consumer," Webster said.

"As we continue to evolve how our brands engage consumers and shape conversations globally, Madeleine will lead a best-in-class global brand communications organisation that elevates our storytelling, strengthens collaboration across our portfolio, and helps our brands earn relevance, resonance and long-term desirability."

Boyd's remit includes developing a more cohesive communications strategy across Estée Lauder's portfolio while strengthening earned media, cultural relevance and creator engagement.

The appointment takes effect on 20 July.
