



Esprit's chief digital and marketing officer Larry Luk leaves firm

Esprit’s chief digital and marketing officer Larry Luk (pictured) has left the company after one year. A person related to the matter confirmed to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that Luk left the company at the end of last year.
In a conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Esprit responded with a statement without denying that Luk has left the company.
"ESPRIT Futura New York will be the brand’s new global creative and design hub to inspire forward thinking and bring contemporary concepts and talent to its new branding strategy. This will solidify the ambition to rebrand one of the world’s most iconic companies. ESPRIT Futura New York will take the lead in Esprit’s rebranding venture and marketing efforts," the statement read.
The establishment of "ESPRIT Futura" is a foundation in turning the iconic brand into an omnichannel technology and data-driven fashion powerhouse. The new hubs aim to create transformative change in culture, mindset, and business process, discover new growth opportunities for Esprit. According to the brand, it is to improve innovation performance through a technology-driven approach that focuses on customer experience and embraces circularity. This new structure will also provide opportunities to enable Esprit staff to have more flexibility with increased international exposure.
During the time at Esprit, Luk was responsible for pushing forward Esprit’s eCommerce expansion through customer experience strategies and deeper storytelling marketing campaigns.
Luk has extensive experience in the fashion industry, as he was vice president, eCommerce for APAC at Calvin Klein from March 2015 to April 2017. Prior to this position, he worked for L'Oreal Hong Kong for about five years. He was also at Ralph Lauren for more than five years, where his last position was senior director, merchandising, eCommerce.
