Droga5 ANZ has appointed former M&C Saatchi AUNZ CEO Michael McEwan as director of its Melbourne office, as the agency deepens its leadership bench and signals continued investment in the Victorian market.
McEwan will officially join in late May and brings close to 30 years of experience across creative, strategy and client service, including five years at M&C Saatchi Group where he helped steer the agency to multiple wins at Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show and the Effies.
At Droga5 McEwan joins the ANZ leadership team with a remit to grow the agency’s Melbourne presence and unlock new opportunities by bridging Droga5’s creative reputation with Accenture’s broader capabilities.
“I’m beyond excited to be joining Droga5,” McEwan said. “There’s enormous opportunity in Melbourne to unleash the creative depth at Droga5 and the world-class capabilities of Accenture Song.
“While others talk about the future, Droga5 and Accenture Song are actively shaping it – I’m looking forward to contributing to that momentum.”
Droga5 ANZ CEO and Accenture Song ANZ marketing practice lead Matt Michael welcomed the appointment, noting McEwan’s collaborative leadership style and commitment to strong creative outcomes.
“Michael is a natural collaborator with a strong track record of pushing for great work and building exceptional teams,” said Michael. “His appointment reflects our commitment to investing in the Melbourne market and supporting its business and creative communities.”
McEwan is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is widely respected for his client partnerships and business leadership.
