Domino’s has appointed Dewald Du Plooy as chief marketing officer for Australia and New Zealand, as new CEO Merrill Pereyra continues to reshape the business.
Du Plooy will join the company on 27 April, bringing experience across retail and quick service restaurants, including roles at OTR Group, Yum! Restaurants International and Procter & Gamble.
The appointment comes just months after Pereyra took on the CEO role in January, with a renewed focus on improving customer experience and franchisee returns. Pereyra said the hire is part of a broader effort to reset the business.
“We are committed to delivering consistency, convenience and creating a stronger connection with our customers, while improving returns for our franchise partners,” he said. “Dewald’s appointment is a key step in consolidating a disciplined, customer-focused marketing approach to sustainable growth.”
Du Plooy said he sees an opportunity to build on Domino’s existing brand strength.
“It is a strong global brand with a leading market position in the region, built on innovation and customer focus,” he said.
The move signals a continued shift toward more disciplined, customer-led marketing as Domino’s looks to strengthen performance across the ANZ market.
