Dom Hickey joins Enigma as CSO to lead integrated strategy push

Enigma has appointed Dom Hickey as chief strategy officer, leading its Central Intelligence unit and bolstering the indie agency’s integrated approach across brand, creative, CX, media and connections strategy.
Hickey was most recently CSO at Howatson+Company, where she helped drive new business growth and led award-winning work for Domain, Modibodi and the ABC. She has also led strategy on major brands including Coles, Westpac and J&J across a 20-year career.
Founder and director Lisa Sutton Gardner said Hickey’s arrival marked a key milestone in Enigma’s evolution. “The only way to have true media and creative integration is for the insights and thinking to come from the same brains trust,” she said. “We’ve scoured the country and more to find the right leader - and found that in Dom.”
Hickey described Enigma as a “30-year-old challenger brand with huge ambition” and said she was excited to help deepen the agency’s understanding of “real Australians.”
Her appointment follows that of Simon Lee as chief creative officer in March and Justin Ladmore’s promotion to chief media officer in February. Hickey and Lee previously worked together at Lavender.
“We’re better equipped than ever to deliver truly integrated campaigns that move real Australians and shape Australian culture,” Ladmore said.
