DIA Brands brings on board new creative director

DIA Brands has appointed John Dorai (pictured) as its new creative director. Dorai is a creative professional with experience in both art and copy. His career spans more than 25 years, having worked at international agencies such as FCB, Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy and Hakuhodo.

His most recent position was as creative head at Entropia which is part of Accenture Song. During his hire at Entropia, Dorai was lauded to have intuitive skills and vast exposure in the creative arena.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Dorai also worked at Y&R Malaysia from 2009 to 2013, after which he helmed the role of creative director at Hakuhodo Malaysia from 2014 to 2019. He then joined ASATSU-DK Malaysia from 2020 to 2021 before moving on to Entropia. 

DIA Brands’ managing director, Sutapa Bhattacharya said with his breadth of experience and approach to the creative process, Dorai will lead the creative team and further strengthen DIA’s branding and communication.

Meanwhile, Bhattacharya is also relatively new to the DIA Brands Malaysia family, joining as MD mid last year. She joined after holding the GM role at Tenaga Nasional under its strategic communication and branding unit. She also has agency experience having worked in Leo Burnett Malaysia where she was head of strategy and brand. DIA Brands as a company has been around for more than 25 years. Some of its clients include Tai Sun, Changi, Just Co, Bintang and many others.
