CTF Media & Entertainment unveils new logo to drive media convergence

CTF Media & Entertainment (CTFME), formerly i-CABLE Communications, has unveiled a new corporate logo, marking a significant milestone in its evolution toward building a forward-looking, integrated media and entertainment ecosystem in Hong Kong.
The rebrand is part of CTFME’s broader corporate and business development strategy, said Ivy Wong, CEO and executive director of CTF Media & Entertainment. "While we do not disclose the associated cost, what is more important is that the new logo reflects our five core pillars, supporting a consistent and cohesive experience across our audience touchpoints."
The refreshed logo centres on the letters “M” and “E” - representing media and entertainment. Positioned side by side, two identical letterforms create negative space in the shape of a forward-facing triangle. Beyond evoking a classic play symbol, the mark signifies content’s fluid journey from creation to distribution, interaction, and experience, symbolising CTFME’s commitment to driving industry convergence.

Leveraging decades of production, content, and infrastructure expertise, CTFME’s operational blueprint unites five interconnected business units. Its foundation remains rooted in i-CABLE Communications, which connects over 2.3 million households across Hong Kong, providing essential telecommunications and broadband infrastructure. The broadcast and digital arm, HOY Media Network, spans three free-to-air television channels (HOY 76, 77, and 78) alongside the HOY OTT streaming platform.
Beyond traditional broadcasts, CTFME is expanding into live event experiences—including concerts, live house shows, and major sporting events—to extend screen content into physical settings. The ecosystem is further amplified by retail and eCommerce initiatives focused on IP monetisation and co-branded merchandise, alongside an integrated marketing unit offering end-to-end advertising, public relations, and data analytics solutions for brand partners.
Leveraging on digital convergence
The strategic shift comes as changing consumer behavior reshapes the media landscape. External research indicates that internet users worldwide use more than six social media platforms each month. In Hong Kong, the proportions of audiences accessing news through television (65%) and social media (64%) are also broadly comparable, reflecting increasingly diverse media-consumption habits.
According to industry forecasts, Hong Kong’s entertainment and media sector is expected to generate revenue of US$15 billion by 2030, with digital-media segments such as OTT video streaming expected to continue growing. CTFME believes that quality content can create broader and more meaningful connections with audiences across screens, social platforms and real-world settings, enabling creativity to be seen, shared and experienced, creating more possibilities for Hong Kong’s media and entertainment industry, and bringing Hong Kong stories to Chinese communities around the world.
As audiences increasingly move between television, streaming, social media and real-world experiences, this creates an opportunity for advertisers to engage audiences through a more connected journey, rather than relying on a single channel or isolated campaign, added Wong.
CTFME’s “Screen-to-experience” approach brings together content creation, media planning, digital advertising, social media, public relations, events and data analytics, she said. "This enables us to work with brand partners on integrated solutions that can be tailored to their communications objectives and relevant audience touchpoints."
Wong said, “Our new corporate logo encapsulates CTFME’s shared vision for the future. We believe media and entertainment are not separate disciplines. The integrated ‘ME’ logo signifies that our creative philosophy centers on the individual audience member’s entertainment experience. Consequently, we are adopting a ‘Screen-to-experience’ development strategy—breaking free from the operational frameworks of traditional broadcasters to build an integrated media and entertainment ecosystem."
Wong added, “We value Hong Kong’s established talent base and believe that the professional experience and creative perspectives of people from different markets can bring fresh inspiration to local teams. CTFME aims to create an open platform for collaboration, offering creators and professionals more opportunities to practise, exchange ideas and grow, while bringing Hong Kong stories to a broader international stage.”
