Cordell Broadus, a crypto entrepreneur and investor, has partnered with Gushcloud International, a Singaporean headquartered global technology-driven digital talent and media company, to launch The Champ Medici Lounge, a Web3-focused five-day event happening alongside F1 Singapore. The event will feature a huge inflatable art installation that will be positioned at the Somerset Youth Park for the whole month of October.
Developed by Yuga Labs, Champ Medici is part of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) which is a collection of 10,000 unique NFTs based on the Ethereum blockchain. At its peak, the entry price for a Bored Ape reached US$400,000. BAYC remains a lucrative collection and investment that in September 2022, one Bored Ape NFT was sold for US$1.17 million. Moreover, the exclusivity of the BAYC have attracted an increasing number of celebrity collectors such as Eminem, Madonna, Stephen Curry, and Snoop Dogg.
The luxurious pop-up lounge event is created and hosted by the Champ Medici and Gushcloud International together with crypto and Web3 companies namely NewStyle Media Group (NSMG), Bixin Ventures, BCA Network, Clay Nation, Vera, and Bytecity.
The event will see seven activations from 28 September to 2 October to bring crypto, NFT, Web3 founders, creators, creatives, and investors globally together.
“I am excited to partner up with Gushcloud and key brands in the Web3 industry such as NSMG (owners of China’s television show The Untamed), Bixin Ventures (venture firm in Web3), BCA Network (first crypto art space) to develop activations during the F1 celebration in Singapore. This will be Snoop Geek Squad and my first time in Asia and we are looking forward to meeting up with brands and talent that want to start exploring Web3. We want to share our experiences of how we brought my father, Snoop and some of the world’s biggest stars into the industry and how they have found better solutions to engage with their fans,” said Broadus.
The pop-up lounge consists of five activities. The first activity is the “Welcome To The Block (WTTB) dinner.” It’s a private VIP dinner party on 28 September, hosted by Golden Equator Group, to welcome Broadus, Snoop’s Geek Squad, and hip-hop mogul and icon Russell Simmons. It will host tech entrepreneurs and investors in Web 2 and Web3 as well as international and local celebrities in Singapore during the F1 weekend.
The second activity is the “Champ Medici Sushi Pop.” It’s another invite-only event where Broadus will host 68 investors and movers and shakers in one of Singapore’s trendiest sushi hand roll restaurants.
The third activity is the “Welcome To The Block Web3 Panel and WTTB Fund Announcement.” Champ Medici will also be announcing a its partnership with a venture capital, Golden Equator Group, to establish the “Welcome To The Block Fund, a Web3 investment fund.”
The fourth activity is the “Champ Medici x Dr Bombay Art Gallery & The Last Generation Immersive Experience.” It’s organised by Gushcloud, Bixin Ventures, NewStyle Media Group (NSMG), and BCA Labs. It will feature key artworks inspired by China’s top Chinese drama, The Untamed, as well as Broadus’ and Snoop Dogg’s (Dr Bombay) NFT art collections which include NFTs by Steve Aoki and Wiz Khalifa. It is open to the public from 1 to 2 October from 11am to 9pm at The Mandala Club.
The final activity is the “Champ Medici: Recharge.” The public can visit and take a selfie with the life-size Champ Medici inflatable installation at Somerset Belt from 23 September to 31 October. This 40-foot art piece, owned by Broadus, aims to show the world that Champ Medici and its communities are in a constant recharging process. It also aims to promote Web3 and the NFT. This traveling piece features two communities that Champ is invested in. Singapore serves as the first stop of the Champ Medici: Recharge Tour.
The inflatable installation features two communities that Champ Medici is invested in, namely HANJAN and Oasis Club. HANJAN, a Singaporean-founded premium wellness and lifestyle brand, is represented by the fanny pack around his chest. On the other hand, Champ Medici is a founding backer of Oasis Club which is a global Web 3.0 wellness membership club that supports creator and entrepreneur communities. The NFT artwork by WOMI, the Korean artist for Oasis Club's Genesis collection drop, can be found on the inflatable artwork’s board shorts.
“I am personally most excited about the public art exhibition that would feature my Bored Ape named Champ Medici in a massive way. It showcases how an NFT can be successfully licensed and made into different art forms, it also showcases how an NFT can partner up with brands and develop more engaging strategies. By doing so, I hope to showcase my Bored Ape NFT in a meaningful way, engage communities in Web3, and also assist my fellow Bored Ape holders by increasing the intangible value of the art. That is the beauty of Web3 and communities,” added Broadus.
“At Gushcloud, providing brands and talent solutions and innovative ideas about how to market themselves, and further engage with their fans is always key for us. We want to help our creators, partners, and brands to maximise the opportunities present in Web3 to help their businesses and investments grow. We’re looking forward to the discussions and solutions that will emerge throughout the pop-up lounge,” said Althea Lim, co-founder and group CEO Of Gushcloud International.
