Citi has bolstered its leadership with three senior appointments in its banking, capital markets and advisory business divisions for Hong Kong, all effective immediately.

With over 26 years of banking experience, Ben Ngai (pictured left) joins Citi as managing director and Hong Kong head of investment banking. He will be reporting to Alex Schrantz, APAC head of corporate finance and Hong Kong head of banking, capital markets and advisory.

Prior to the new role, he was a managing director within corporate, commercial and institutional banking at Standard Chartered, covering blue-chip conglomerates, family officers and public sector clients in Hong Kong.

Ngai first joined Citi in 2004 and was promoted to director of the financial entrepreneurs group of investment banking in 2006, according to his LinkedIn.

Meanwhile, Mimi Tse (pictured middle) is appointed as head of corporates and public sector coverage of corporate banking at Citi Hong Kong. She will be reporting to Joy Cheng, head of corporate banking of Citi Hong Kong.

Tse was previously at HSBC, where she was a senior coverage banker and head of corporate banking. She has 15 years of client management experience, including working with top tier Hong Kong and Mainland companies, originating transactions in debt, equity and leveraged acquisition financing.

Kathy Cheung (pictured right) is named as director of corporate coverage at Citi Hong Kong. She will be reporting to Tse. Prior to the position, Cheung was the director of corporate and leveraged acquisition finance credit at HSBC Hong Kong, where she was responsible for structured finance coverage, Asia private equity credit portfolio and Hong Kong large corporates coverage.

Back in September, Citi has appointed Vicky Kong as consumer business manager for Citibank Hong Kong and the chief executive of Citibank (Hong Kong), effective immediately. In this role, Kong will oversee Citi’s overall consumer banking business in Hong Kong, including the wealth strategy. She will report to Angel Ng, head of Asia of Citi Global Wealth and Aveline San, chief executive officer for Citi Hong Kong and Macau.
