IT and security giant Cisco has appointed Iris Feng (pictured) as general manager of Cisco Hong Kong, Macau, in addition to South China, a market she has been leading as GM since 2020. She is taking over from Wilson Ching, who has been named the managing director of software and services sales for Greater China. Feng will report to Ming Wong, chief executive officer of Cisco Greater China.

In her new expanded role covering the Hong Kong and Macau markets, Feng will drive Cisco’s business transformation and growth across the GBA by building on the synergies across the key regions. She will also translate her extensive experience in the finance, logistics, properties, manufacturing and energy industries to support Cisco’s growing focus on the Greater Bay Area, which has become a key driver of digital adoption and transformation as businesses look to leverage technology to drive future growth.

Feng joined Cisco in 2005 and has been leading sales in the mainland market of South China since 2020. She has been playing an important role in the evolution of Cisco’s business in South China, and her “Expansion to Overseas” initiative helped mainland-headquartered customers expand their business globally, according to the release.

Commenting on the appointment, Ming Wong, chief executive officer of Cisco Greater China, said: “2023 is an exceptional year as it marks the 30th anniversary of Cisco entering Hong Kong, and we are seeing Greater China recovering from the pandemic by leaps and bounds. With Feng’ appointment, I am confident we could make this year a new milestone of Cisco in Greater China. We hope to see Feng making new business breakthroughs leveraging opportunities from the Greater Bay Area.”

“Hong Kong and Macau are bestowed with unparalleled opportunities as two key cities in the Greater Bay Area and important pivots for many Chinese enterprises going global. I am honored to be given the opportunity to lead Cisco’s business in the region. With Cisco’s solid market foundation, I look forward to working with the incredible team to drive business transformation and growth across Hong Kong, Macau and the South China region, delivering the world-leading solutions to our partners and customers to help them reap the benefits from the new hybrid world,” said Feng

Meanwhile, Ching has transitioned on as the company's managing director of software and services sales for Greater China. His move comes as Cisco continues to increase its focus on software, recurring revenue, and services to cater to the evolving needs of customers, as well as the ongoing transformation of its own business.
