Anheuser-Busch InBev has appointed Havas Thailand as the lead marketing and media partner for the Budweiser 0.0 campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Thailand, marking one of the market’s most high-profile sports marketing mandates ahead of the global tournament.

The appointment positions Havas Thailand at the centre of Budweiser’s World Cup activation strategy in the country, as the brand looks to deepen its connection with Thai football fans through integrated storytelling and media execution.

Budweiser has long held global FIFA sponsorship rights and is widely visible across tournament touchpoints. For the 2026 edition, the brand is placing increased emphasis on its alcohol-free variant Budweiser 0.0, as it leans into broader consumption occasions and lifestyle-driven positioning.

Under the mandate, Havas Thailand will lead media strategy, data-driven planning and integrated campaign execution. The agency said it will leverage its capabilities across data intelligence, media strategy and cultural insight to ensure the campaign resonates locally while staying aligned with global brand direction.

The partners are expected to focus on culturally relevant storytelling and experience-led engagement to tap into Thailand’s strong football fandom, which typically spikes around major international tournaments.

Havas Thailand said the partnership reflects its strength in delivering integrated, data-led marketing solutions that combine media, strategy and technology to drive brand impact at scale.

“We are pleased to partner with Havas Thailand for this important moment for Budweiser 0.0. Thailand is a key and highly strategic market for AB InBev in Southeast Asia, with strong growth potential and a deep connection to global cultural moments such as the FIFA World Cup 2026," said Dominic Kirk, director, SEA, AB InBev.

He highlighted that as one of the brand’s key global platforms, Budweiser needed a partner that could combine strong local market understanding with advanced media capabilities. He pointed to Havas’ clear grasp of how to connect with Thai audiences, supported by an experienced team and a forward-looking approach to media, technology, and business growth.

In tandem, Siamrit Wongvichitara, chief commercial officer, Havas Thailand, said, “This partnership marks an important step forward for Havas Thailand as we continue to strengthen our role as a strategic partner to leading global brands."

"It gives us the opportunity to combine cultural relevance with strategic media thinking, helping Budweiser connect with Thai consumers in a way that is engaging, locally meaningful, and commercially effective ensuring every touchpoint drives both brand growth and measurable business outcomes," he added.

The move comes amid a broader wave of brands doubling down on football-led storytelling and fan culture this World Cup season. Recently, Pepsi rolled out its global campaign platform “Pepsi football nation”, which brings together a roster of football stars to spotlight fan culture beyond matchday.

The LEGO Group also joined in on the fun, tapping four of the world’s biggest football stars – Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi and Vini Jr. – for a global campaign that turns football fandom into a buildable experience ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
