Brisbane 2032 has opened a $2.5 billion procurement pipeline, calling on Australian companies - including marketing, research and event specialists - to help deliver the Olympic and Paralympic Games and build a lasting economic legacy for Queensland.

More than 80% of the organising committee’s current supplier spending already flows to local companies, with 44% directed to small and medium-sized enterprises. The new framework aims to expand those opportunities, improve transparency, and ensure local talent and innovation sit at the centre of the Games’ delivery.

“Brisbane 2032 is officially open for business,” organising committee president Andrew Liveris, said. “Procuring the right goods, services and people will be critical to our success in 2032 and I’m determined to ensure our local Queensland and Australian businesses get a healthy slice of the procurement pie.”

Following the model established by Paris 2024 - where 90% of suppliers were based in France and 80% were SMEs - the Brisbane approach seeks to prioritise regional businesses, sustainable sourcing and long-term economic value.

More than 1,500 participants joined the launch event in person and online, with over 50 expressions of interest already open across sectors including advanced technology, infrastructure, logistics, event management and market research. The inclusion of research, branding, and marketing-services tenders signals new opportunities for creative agencies, consultancies, and insights firms to help shape how the Games are communicated and experienced by fans and sponsors.

Queensland’s minister for sport and racing and minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Tim Mander, said the initiative reflects the state’s ambition to make the Games a true engine of local benefit. “We want these to be Games for Queensland, by Queensland,” he said. “That means helping local companies to understand the procurement process and making sure they have the best chance to share in the benefits of hosting the Games.”

“Hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games provides an ideal opportunity to drive economic growth through contracts and jobs and we’re determined to ensure Queensland people and businesses are front and centre of this economic opportunity. This is your chance to be part of history and to help create lasting benefits that extend well beyond 2032.”

At the heart of the program is a new Supplier Portal that allows companies to register interest, showcase credentials and receive updates on upcoming opportunities. A “Meet the Brisbane 2032 Buyer” roadshow will begin in Cairns on 13 November before expanding across Queensland and interstate.

The Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games will take place from 23 July to 8 August, followed by the Paralympic Games from 24 August to 5 September.
