Bangkok will host the Grand Final of Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 on 14 November, marking the debut of the world’s iconic music competition in Asia. The contest aims to showcase Asia’s diversity and creativity while staying true to Eurovision’s ethos of connecting people through music.
The inaugural edition will bring together ten countries, including Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, with more expected to join in the coming months.
Bangkok was chosen as host city for its mix of tradition and modernity, providing a backdrop that reflects the spirit of the contest. The event will be broadcast in Thailand by Channel 3, alongside participating broadcasters from across Asia.

The announcement was made jointly by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Voxovation, Thailand’s S2O Productions and Channel 3.
“As we mark the 70th anniversary of Eurovision, it feels especially meaningful to open this next chapter with Asia, a region rich in culture, creativity and talent,” said Martin Green, director of Eurovision Song Contest.
“This is about evolving the show together with Asia, building something that reflects the voices, identities and ambitions of the region, while staying true to what has always made the contest special," Green added.
In tandem, Peter Settman, CEO and co-founder of Voxovation, the exclusive licensee of Eurovision Song Contest Asia, said the contest would “create a show where artists and fans connect across borders in new ways, through participation, community and deeper engagement beyond the stage.”
Chuwit Sirivajjakul, deputy governor for policy and planning, Tourism Authority Thailand added: “Bangkok has always been a place where cultures come together, where music fills the air, and where celebration is part of everyday life. Eurovision Song Contest Asia embodies exactly that, and we are proud to welcome it home, marking a new chapter for Thailand’s global presence.”
The Tourism Authority of Thailand has been successful in attracting numerous regional and global events in the past year. In December 2025, it hosted the 33rd SEA Games, reportedly catering to over 12,000 athletes, including 930 from Singapore competing across 48 sports.
A month prior, in November 2025, Bangkok hosted Miss Universe, which drew 2.6 billion views across digital platforms: 1.7 billion on Instagram, 817 million on Facebook, 87 million on TikTok, and 15 million on YouTube, according to The Philippine Star. The pageant also gained 30.5 million followers across all platforms, marking it as the most viewed Miss Universe in history. Its success was attributed to the global support and engagement of audiences who shared, celebrated, and supported the pageant’s community.
