AXA Philippines puts parents' health at the heart of family protection

AXA Philippines is urging parents to prepare not only for the arrival of a child, but also for the unexpected health challenges that could prevent them from being there for their families.
The message underpins the insurer's latest "Everyday protectors" campaign, launched in conjunction with National Cancer Survivor Day. The third instalment of the series uses storytelling to encourage families to prioritise health preparedness, highlighting the emotional and financial consequences of serious illness.
The short film follows Lina, a new mother whose joy of welcoming her daughter is overshadowed by a cancer diagnosis received on the very same day. While navigating treatment, Lina remains determined to be present for the milestones that define parenthood, from first steps to birthdays, underscoring the resilience many parents display while facing life-altering illnesses.
Don't miss: Filipino wellbeing strained by layered pressures and digital overload, AXA says
The campaign arrives against a sobering backdrop. Around one in five Filipinos is expected to develop cancer before the age of 75, while data from the Philippine Statistics Authority ranks neoplasms, including cancer, as the country's second leading cause of death. Late diagnosis continues to be a significant challenge, reducing opportunities for early intervention.
Rather than centring on treatment alone, AXA frames the campaign around preparedness, positioning health protection as a form of care that begins before a medical emergency occurs.
The film also reinforces the insurer's broader health proposition, highlighting products that span preventive care, medical insurance and critical illness protection. These include Global Health Access (GHA), Health Care Access and Health Max Elite, the latter providing protection from pre-early to late-stage critical illnesses across more than 150 conditions, including selected mental health conditions and non-listed cases requiring intensive care or life-saving surgery.
Beyond insurance coverage, AXA is also promoting its refreshed Emma app, which now includes enhanced digital health management features. The platform allows customers to manage policies, file reimbursements, monitor claims and access mental wellness support through Mind You, reflecting the growing role of digital services in customer healthcare journeys.
Through the "Everyday protectors" series, AXA continues to lean on emotionally driven storytelling to reinforce its brand positioning. The campaign first celebrated the everyday heroes who keep their families and livelihoods afloat, before highlighting the importance of road preparedness through the story of a father travelling to his daughter's wedding.
