AS Watson Group has appointed Queennie Fung (pictured) as general manager, group corporate communications, reporting to Malina Ngai, group CEO of AS Watson Group.

In her new role, Fung will lead the strategic development of AS Watson’s global corporate communications agenda, further strengthening the group’s brand positioning, reputation, and stakeholder engagement across its 31 markets.

Fung joined AS Watson in 2014 and has been a key driver of the group’s communications strategy. Since her appointment as head of corporate communications in 2024, she has played a critical role in advancing integrated communications across markets, working closely with business units and functional teams to deliver consistent and impactful messaging.

She has led numerous high-profile initiatives that reinforce AS Watson’s brand narrative and purpose. She has also continued to advance its community engagement agenda.

Ngai said: “Fung has made a strong contribution to shaping our global communications strategy and strengthening how we connect with our customers, partners and communities. Her leadership will be instrumental as we continue to build a more integrated, purpose-driven brand across our markets."

This appointment reflects AS Watson’s continued focus on building a strong, consistent global brand and enhancing stakeholder engagement in an increasingly dynamic retail landscape.

In a multinational organisation with over 130,000 colleagues across diverse markets, corporate communications plays a critical role in ensuring clarity, consistency and trust, according to Ngai. "Having started my own journey in this function, I understand how important it is in shaping both internal alignment and external perception. Fung brings a strong combination of strategic thinking and execution excellence to further strengthen how we engage stakeholders globally.”

Meanwhile, Fung added, "Communications today is about building meaningful connections - internally and externally - across different cultures, markets and stakeholders. I’m excited to work with teams globally to tell authentic stories, strengthen engagement, and reinforce AS Watson’s position as a trusted and forward-looking brand.”
