Ant Group expands its presence in Singapore with a new office, the launch of its Ant International Foundation (AIF), investment in technology and collaboration with Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The new Singapore office will oversee the company’s various international business and technology segments, including Ant International.

The newly launched AIF aims to power the future of global commerce through digital innovation and promote greater inclusion with a focus on long-term and sustainable value creation in the digital economy, according to the company in a statement.

“This new office signifies our commitment to enabling our teams in Singapore to continue playing an important role in our international development,” said Eric Jing, chairman and CEO of Ant Group.

“We will further strengthen regional and global collaboration with policymakers, financial industry partners and customers, to bring better experience to people and more prosperity for businesses in Asia and beyond,” added Peng Yang, the newly appointed president of Ant International.

Ant International has also pledged to increase investments in cutting-edge technologies to enhance trust and efficiency in digital commerce by including privacy-preserving computing and Web.3.0 innovations.

To encourage more sustainable digital consumption, Ant Group is collaborating with IMDA to promote "Tech for Good" through carbon reduction techniques and frameworks.

"The opening of Ant Group’s new International headquarters here reaffirms their confidence in Singapore's position as a technology hub and a nexus for connecting to Southeast Asia and the world,” said Chan Ih-Ming, executive director and head, Digital Industry Singapore (DISG).

Chan also said, “Ant Group’s collaborative efforts with local companies have driven innovation and empowered local businesses on their growth journey, boosting our digital ecosystem.”

Ant Group has also recently partnered with Singapore Tourism Board (STB) last year to make cross-border travel to Singapore more seamless and convenient. The partnership builds on a collaboration that was forged in 2019 and is focused on driving tourism growth in Singapore through a series of digital and marketing initiatives over the next two years.

To strengthen Singapore’s destination appeal among travellers from Asia, including key markets like Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea and Thailand, Ant Group launched the SingapoReimagine with an Alipay+ campaign. As part of SingapoReimagine, STB’s international recovery campaign, it offers fresh and innovative experiences to travellers from these markets, while allowing transactions in Singapore through mobile wallets that they are already familiar with.
